coop lost cheque

I received a cheque from eon , with regard to an overpayment on the 15/5 , this was sent to the bank via the royal mail service , envelope and paying slip from PO , handed in and recept for 1 x letter to the coop with my acc no and sort on it.
by this method it is supposed to enter there system on the next working day
we are now on the 26/05 , cheque still not received
what happens now?
due to the nature of the cheque and the fact that it was an old account with eon , I have no details to contact them with .
have I lost it?

Cheques do have a weird way of turning up if you complain, I see you have no details for it but no harm in trying.
Ah so it could have got lost before it hit the bank.
Ignore me, didn't read it properly.0 -
live chat "go away its only 3 working days" ME " yup but it is supposed to be showing after 1 day + 1day for delivery

I am confused. Did you use the Royal Mail service (post the cheque) getting a certificate of posting?...enfield_freddy wrote: »by this method it is supposed to enter there system on the next working day
Royal Mail's target for next day delivery is 93% of all letters. This supposes that the letter is posted before the collection time on the day it is put in the post box. For my local box that is 9 a.m.!
Royal Mail does not consider a letter lost until 15 (working?) days have elapsed.enfield_freddy wrote: »have I lost it?

...or did you use a Post Office counter service to make a deposit to your Co-op account? Post Office counters are not Royal Mail.0 -
when you deposit a cheque at the post office , it is not put in the post box , it is sent by there internal mail system (there is no address on the envelope) close of business is by bank standards 16.30 and 17.30 by post office standards
the item is not a "letter"0 -
In my (albeit limited) experience it can take up to a week for cheques to show when deposited this way.0

then why do they say deposit day +1 for post office deposits?0

Hi enfield freddy
Hope you don't mind me popping on but thought I'd mention, if the cheque doesn't turn up, it can always be re-issued. Just let us know. We'll need to cancel the original so it can't be cashed if it turns up down the line and re-issue for the same amount. This can take a few days to sort so you may want to hang on for a bit in case it turns up but, if not, it's an option.
Hope this helps.

Internal mail system? for a company who has a whole mail system in place already?
I would expect that to mean the item goes in a direct pouch and goes straight into the mail system.0 -

yes , that is probably what I should have wrote, , although the bag also received 2 more of my stamped letters and a small parcel from the previous customer , the envelope given by the post office just has your acc no / sort code and a coop logo on it
