Hi there.
Basically, I have a Sony CD/CD R player in my car, but everytime I make my own CD's, burned via Windows Media Player, or Acoustia MP3 burner etc. The disks wont load
I put them in, and then the player makes a "whirring" noise and says error. I assume this is because of Sony's marvellous privacy protection??
If it is, is there anyway round this. The CDs I make are of tracks that I already own and I pay for them etc.
Finally, could it also be the CD's I am using. I am using some cheap TDK disks, although having said that, they seem to play correctly on my dads car.
Maybe it's even the burning software?
Hopefully someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks in Advance.:money:
(p.s - sorry for clogging up the technie forum today, thats two threads already!

Are you finalising the disks you're burning, or leaving them open to be added to?0

Have you tried the CD in any other players?
Are you sure the CD player definitely plays CDR's?
The Clarion CD player I had in my old car wouldn't play them.Dave. :wave:0 -
My in car sony doesnt play CDr but thats cos its a minidisk boom boom!
Sony are very picky when it comes to cdr, I have a dvd player that would touch cdr no matter what I do it doesnt suport the format so I bought a sony cd player and it is happy to play both cdr and cdrw.
I would try some different software other than WMP grab nero from somewhere, if the player will play cdr then it wil play a nero burnt cd.
Try different disks, TDK are not brilliant, are they 74 minute, 80 minute or 90 minute? the first 2 should play fine 90's are a bit less likley to play. TDK disks suffer from degradation very quickly I used them years ago when no one had cd writers back in the days of single speed and 2 hour burns with varification as it was so hit and miss, ohh and disks cost a fortune back then.
So different burning software and differnet disks, try burning at slower speeds, make an audio cd not an mp3 cd (just incase) and make sure your not useing cdrw as they are less likley to play in anything.0 -

Under the Burning tab in WMP, is Audio CD or Data CD selected?
How many tracks are on the CD compilation you are trying to create?0 -
The CD player is the most likely problem - probably an older model from Sony's "you'll do as we tell you" days when their players wouldn't play CD-R or CR-RW due to copyright issues. Suggest buy a new machine.
