Credit card suspected fraud and pending transactions

Yesterday my CC company called because they suspected fraud. They caught me on the hop (I was out of the house and had just cycled 70+ miles) so I wasn't thinking particularly straight at the time. They said they'd cancel the card and reissue a new one. I can live with this to be on the safe side.

I made 2 online transactions on saturday. Both went through ok at the time but on reflection one of them may have been the one the cc company was querying, it was in euros to a finnish company whose name I couldn't remember at the time of the call, and I didn't recognise the name or the (converted into sterling) amount when they asked but overnight it dawned on me that the transactions they were asking about may have been genuine. They still might not be but I'd rather have been sitting down at home with the relevant emails in front of me to check!

either way, i want the genuine transactions to stand but I'm not sure what happens now if they've flagged one or both of them as fraudulent. I have confirmations through for them both but as they are for future stuff (a ferry and airport parking) I guess they could be cancelled? Any thoughts on what to do next?

Did the credit card firm tell you that they would be sending something for you to sign - if so advise them then.

Ring the CC company back as soon as possible. The longer you leave it the more difficult it will be to undo any actions they have taken.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

In my experience when my cards have been blocked due to potential fraud, although after I call and OK the transaction, the retailer still considers them as "declined."

Personally, I'd phone the recipients and check all is OK.

Similar thing happened to me last year, my amazon prime trial was finished and i was automatically charged £70, when i saw a pending transaction that i didnt recognize i straight away called the bank and blocked the card. The advisor told me that they cant do anything until the transaction clears, they then can reverse it and send me some forms to fill. However once cleared i recognized the transaction, so i called the bank to inform them that it was legit and the transaction went through although my card was blocked and a replacement was issued by that time.
Just keep an eye on your online account now, when the transaction clears then let the bank know, if it's not something you had authorized then ask them to reverse it and wait for the forms. At least now you are on the safe side, if it's a fraudlent transaction your card is already blocked.
