Create a ".doc" document without MS Word?

Hi there.

Unfortunatley I don't have Microsoft word, just MS Word viewer 2003.

However, I am writing a CV and it needs to be in .doc format. Is there any way you can do this without having a copy of MS Word?

Thanks in advance! :money:

Just print it out and check it carefully before you send it off. VERY occasionally you get glitches with saving in .doc from openoffice Writer.

PS: I think it is better than MS Word anyway ! That b****y paper clip isn't there !

Thanks alot. I didn't realise open office allowed you to save files as ".doc" - I thought it was Microsoft's own extension.

    Thanks again.

  • Can you not provide the CV in PDF format? You could use Wordpad and EasyPDF this way

I just got a new laptop with Vista, which only has Works on it, I think it's version 8, no disc. I have Word 2002 on my desktop, I tried to save it to a USB memory stick, but it said it could not save the file. Is there any way that I can transfer it, I don't have an ethernet port on my desktop. Or can you do anything to send the works word processor file as a doc file. I also need to send CVs out.

Was the memory stick write protected? Some of them have a little switch. You could try emailing it to yourself. I think you can convert wks files to doc files in Word but you may need the original Word disc to install the convertor.
