Did you and your ex at any stage draw up an agreement on how the ownership was divided, and how the mortgage interest payments were to be divided?

No, no agreement with ex regarding ownership or mortgage payments, just assumed we would stay together. Have an appointment with a solicitor next Tuesday, though can't see anything changing. I have spoken to him again today to no avail. I informed him he needed to take over insurance policies that cover his life, as I would no longer be paying them. Thus saving an extra £62 per month that I can throw at the mortgage.

I would consider taking a lodger when children have left home.
