Replacing a freezer door seal on an Zanussi ZRB224NWO fridge/freezer?

Hi,

Just noticed that the food has unfrozen in the freezer part of my frost free Zanussi ZRB224NWO fridge/freezer, freezer part at bottom 3 shelves.

Air seems to be coming through the cooling vents in freezer ok, but turned temperature guage in fridge to 5 from 4 so hopefully it is ok.

Not sure if freezer door was left slightly open but there is a 1.5 inch or so crack in seal at top of door, maybe my fault as cleaned crumbs a good few times from the seal with finger maybe nail cut it.

Anyways anyone know if its fairly easy to change a seal on this particular model of freezer, is it just a matter of undoing a few screws or more complicated? I also notice that the seal is between £38-£48 online.

Thanks for any help.

Are there screws all around the door, hidden by the seal? If so then it's simply a matter of loosening them all a bit, pulling off the old seal & popping on the new one. Make sure it seats properly.

Thanks a lot for reply. I can't see any screws, I think it might be a so called magnetic door seal when searching for parts online.

Are the above easy to replace? fridge/freezer is 4 years old.

Thanks a lot for all the help

I haven't worked in the industry for 15 years but back then there were those with screws that you could change easily & those without screws that you couldn't change at all. Perhaps someone with more up to date info will contribute.

mmmm just trying a few things out here to see if its the actual fridge that is wrong rather than the seal, putting a temperature monitor in to see what temperature freezer will drop to and also putting in some water to see if it turns to ice.

I have a feeling it might actually be the freezer rather than just the door seal. There are six vents in back of freezer compartment with air blowing into freezer but whether its cold enough is another story.

As I say it is a frost free zanussi fridge/freezer, wonder if turning off the whole thing overnight might clear something?

    Thanks again.
