Thanks eversomuch for your replies - I guessed the general consensus would be for the Panasonic, but felt I should explore the alternatives.

Hopefully it'll last as long as my Kenwood has! Poor old thing must have done thousands of loaves in its time.

    Thanks again!

I know I'm in the minority on this thread but I have the MR fastbake and I love it....never had a duff loaf yet.

From reading the reviews written by other old stylers the panasonic is the favourite, but I couldn't justify spending four times as much on a machine that might have been relegated to the back of a cupboard if I didn't like it(the fastbake is my first breadmaker and I wasn't sure whether or not I'd use it regularly or not).

Now that I know I enjoy breadmaking I may go for a panasonic next time, but in the meantime I'm more than pleased with my MR.

This is where I am too. The MR cost me less than £30 and was a trial really as it's my first BM. I love it and use it almost every day, making loaves, bread rolls, pizza dough, and have a huge list of things I want to try with it but haven't got round to it yet! Maybe for my next BM in a few years time I might upgrade to the panasonic, but the MR is fantastic too and excellent value for money.
