Extremely Cheap Car Insurance For Young Convicted Male Driver!!

Ello, Ello, Ello! My first post...

I am a 20 year old male who passed his driving test on the 1st December 2004. About 4 months later I was caught going through a red light at approx 2:30am on a monday morning. November 2006... I recieve a letter from the police stating that they had photographic evidence of me speeding on the M25 and that I was to pay a £60 fine and 3 points would be going on my licence. As I was 20 days off of driving for 2 years, my licence was revoked. I had to resit the theory/hazard perception test and had to resit my practicle driving test.
As my insurance for my first years driving was £1300 for a K reg Vauxhall Astra, and my second years insurance was £800 for a little V Reg Fiesta (1.25 litre) I was preparing myself for an astronomical quote. I phoned around and the lowest quote I got was for £1064 from a company called 'High Performance'. But then, whilst browsing around on moneysavingexpert.com, I spotted the link about car insurance and clicked onto confused.com. I took 5-10 minutes of my time to enter all my details/convictions etc, and when the results came back I couldn't believe it, the cheapest quote by over £300, was a company called Quinn Direct who quoted me £624 with only £150 excess! For a 20 year old male, who has lost his licence before, that cannot be bad! That comes with Courtesy car cover, mobile phone cover, 60 days european cover... etc. Highly Recommend them for young convicted drivers.

Regards,
Scott :rotfl:

That says a great deal about Quinn Direct !!!!
Search previous posts if you're tempted by them, I think I'll look elsewhere.
  • There are a lot of web pages you can find cheap car insurance in UK, for example: http://insurer.atspace.com/uk_car.html.

I've found the call centre to be a nightmare with Quinn Direct! Ages on hold, numerous options, some of which ended up in a dead end when trying to get through and being passed around various departments to answer a simple question. I'm about to renew my car insurance and there's no way I'd go with them again!

With insurance, like everything in life, you pay for what you get.

I got 6 points on my licence for driving with no insurance. I got my cheapest insurance quote from a drink driving web site. They specialise in providing insurance quotes for all convicted drivers, not just drink driving.

Really is mind boggling the difference in prices you get from one insurance company to another. Quotes I got varied in price by up to £500.00!! I think the key is to shop around and get quotes from a lot of different places, what is cheapest for one persons circumstances may not be the cheapest for anothers. Especially when you are looking for convicted driver insurance.

You are a 20 year old driver who passed his test 5 years ago. When you were 15 ??
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

The OP was written in 2007. If the op was 20 then they would have been 17 in 2004.
    Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j
