credit rating damaged

I recently split with my partner and in doing so took my name off the joint account ( and paid his £500 debt to do so )
I went into branch and completed the necessary paperwork as well as my ex and was assured that would be the end of it.
I then checked my credit file a month later- this still showed that I had a financial association with him
I contacted call credit who told me the bank had not yet updated their details. I've left it until the beginning of May and once again checked my file- no change.
I was advised to go back into branch. The Bank apologised and updated some electronic document and sent it off, everything should be fine now I was told.
It isn't - and call credit just insist it's the bank's fault.
#meanwhile I'm unable to get a store card never mind change my mortgage ..
any advice please ? gratefully appreciated

Make a formal complaint to the bank.
When they confirm in writing they've now updated all 3 CRAs with the disassociation, check all 3 CRAs to ensure they've done it this time.
You should also look for the bank to reimburse you the cost of doing this (£2 x 3), and for your time spent on the matter (at £10 per hour). Also expect a goodwill payment on top.0 -
You can also complete a disassociation form with the credit agencies - you can usually download it for just write them a letter. However as YorkshireBoy says you really need the bank to sort this out as the CRAs will go on what they say more than anything else.0
