Car insurance renewal due when moving house not long after

My car insurance is due for renewal at the beginning of June. However I am due to move house at the beginning of July so I am wondering what to do regarding my renewal as the current company I am with has given me a good renewal quote for my current address yet when I asked about my new address I would have to pay an extra £250 in top of what I had already paid.
So do I renew with my current company then cancel the policy and find a different company, or do I find a company that gives me a price for my current place but I know through search engines that when I move to my new address the diff I'll be asked to pay will be up to £50.
I'm not sure which is the best option

I've moved quite a lot due to uni etc, annoyingly my insurance renews in June, and standard student moving house time is July-September, so I've always been whacked with a charge..... ish.
I've always been with EUI group (Admiral, Diamond, Bell etc), after comparing they are cheapest by absolutely miles for me. Each year they play the 'we will charge you for moving' game, plus a mid term adjustment.
Kicked off every year and got a refund every year. So always worth a try of arguing any charges.
In your situation I'd run comparisons etc for your current address (http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/car-insurance/?_ga=1.139481203.1539630901.1430506602) and for your new address - work out what the difference is - e.g. is your new address actually £250 more, that seems a heck of a lot, I reckon your current lot are taking the Michael.
That was my main argument with admiral, quotes were saying the same/tenner either way (I only moved down the road!), they wanted to charge £60+ for 'increased risk' and an admin fee!
If the difference is not great, then go with the cheapest (don't renew with your current lot unless you have compared and can't beat it) then argue any admin charge.
If it's greater and there are large variations, you may be better off taking one with the current company, cancelling and then taking a brand new one with the new cheapest - you won't get any NCD for June though.0
