Santander 123 Mini Current Account Upgrade

Hi There,

I have a Santander 123 Mini Current Account (Formerly Santander Youth Account) since I was 12, I am now 17 and due to turn 18 in July. I want to upgrade this account to the 123 Standard Bank Account, with Santander and I wanted to check if they will be a credit check. I believe I don't have a bad credit, as I have Current accounts with Both Santander & TSB both with balances of over £2,100 and had one previously with Halifax which is now closed. I am also present on the Electoral Roll. Also, when should I upgrade my account, can I do this on or just after I turn 18, or a month after?
I meet the criteria for the 123 Account in terms of minimum funding of £500 and balance of over £1,000. I will need to setup 2 direct debits but I don't see this as being a big problem.

Any Help/Advice Appreciated.

Can I ask why you want to upgrade?

My daughter has this account and has been told she can keep it until she is 19.

The T&Cs (available on the Santander website) say
    8. Account options when you become 19 years of age

If you don’t apply to transfer to a different Santander current account before your 19th birthday, you’ll no longer be eligible for a 1I2I3 Mini
Current Account within the 3 months following your birthday:

Your account will automatically transfer to an adult current account and the General Terms & Conditions for Current Accounts and Savings Accounts will continue to apply.

    ■ Any Specific Conditions relevant to your new account (including any fees and charges) will apply and the 1I2I3 Mini Key Facts Document will no longer be applicable.

We’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice before we make this change.

Regarding credit check: best if you ask them because they will be the only ones who know for certain. But do you actually have any credit history yet? You can check for free on noddle.co.uk.
