Well spotted, uselessaver - it just goes to show that energy companies' staff or reps do not bother either reading, or listening to, what the customer has to say.

Oh dear, nPower rep Jen - do read the posts properly (I suggest all of them) - you will see that shoe*gal is writing on behalf of folk who have been treated, IMHO, appallingly.
I certainly do hope that you will get something done - at last!

I agree. And the npower reps always seems to blame the customers for the problems npower creates. E.g. "I'm sorry that you're having issues with your address." So no acknowledgement of npower's (or their agents') involvement in creating the issues for the OP's friends.

Didn't Watchdog report on this kind of behaviour / error in the past (they've certainly done one on Npowers billing chaos). Perhaps they'd look into it / the further bad publicity resulting might make them get their act together?

Get your MP involved, and / or a no win no fee lawyer. As it sounds like lying to a magistrate (which is purgery); breaking and entering. just name a few.
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

I'm going to do this as briefly as I can for some advice.

NPower send bills to wrong address as they have the incorrect postcode - the street name is right but it's not the right area.

Householders contact NPower repeatedly to inform them of the error

Householder comes home to find bailiffs have forced entry and been through every room in the house.

Contact NPower who promise to respond to the complaint.

More letters arrive addressed to the NPower customer but with their postcode.

Yet more complaints to NPower who's excuse is the addresses are similar.

Police can't do anything about the forced entry as there is a Court order. Advise solicitor.

NPower letter arrives apologising for the mix up addressed to the debtor and stating they've corrected it by putting the address right. They haven't and have now used the wrong people's full address.

Householders understandable nervous about bailiffs coming and emptying the house despite repeated calls, letters and emails and NPower being aware they aren't the customer.

What is the next step for these people? NPower have been a nightmare and totally unhelpful and now have their home registered as the debtor rather than adding the debtor's postcode to his account. It's like a total farce and is causing stress to the family. Any advice appreciated.

    Does the other postcode exist?

If so, is the road there a road there with the exact same name as yours?

Any warrant can only lawfully be executed at the address stated thereon. Normally people will go by the road name & number and ignore the postcode (unless there is another road with the same name at that other postcode)

Any entry in contravention of the entry warrant is breaking and entering (without lawful authority). Presumably the police have been informed of all these recent break-ins you refer to?

What have the police got to say???
You say the police can't do anything because of the court order?
In which case, it sounds like it is entirely lawful.

The way to stop such forced entry is to pay your bills. (or if you can't, seek a voluntary agreement to fit a PPM, which will be cheaper as it doesn't mean the warrant costs are added)

I was forced to take the court route just to show the lies that NPower puts in its letters, late bills etc etcAfter being Mis Sold NPower told me that they investigated the Mis Selling but could not find the recording. There was noo investigation. They put up my DD by 120% and took money from my account unlawfully

Where is NPower's help for customers?Victims I think would be more appropriate
  • Where is that evidence? That is exactly what I have tried to do.NPower's solicitors trying to frighten me with large legal costs.Horrendous company

NPower never billed me until 1 year and 1 day after my 'contract'with them December 11.Their legal team showed the judge all their pretty bills.Justice is expensive!Just for challenging and trying to force the truth,3 years of distress and deceit and the Judge thinks I will have to pay them some money!!!
