would be very hit and miss from a photo as generally the photo colours are not that accurate themselves.
i managed to get a colour matched from a paint sample (basically had a tiny bit of paint left and painted it onto a white a4 piece of paper.
still took them quite a while to get a suitable match but we got there eventually. but from a photo? i seriously doubt it.
better off buying some tester pots and trying some ready made ones out for yourself?

I peeled off a very small piece of the existing paint - they put it in the very clever machine that matches up the colour - it is a 100% perfect match to my eye - technology at its finest - I've since got rid of all my old tins of paint that I kept 'just in case' as I know the matching is so good

I can't see how it would work with a photo though

    Short answer:No
Unless you have professional camera equipment, and a suitably calibrated printer, which you won't, then there's no chance it will match exactly.

Try to give them an actual item with the colour on. Or pick up some second hand pantone swatches from ebay and take them in highlighting the colour you want.

Yeah think I'll do that, why I never think on using those things I don't know:o
