                    Hello Wattson geeks.
I only have one full month of Wattson readings so far. That's April.
I know from two last day of month main meter readings made by me that the electricity for which I will pay is 369 kWh.
But Wattson indicates that importation from the grid is 196.4 kWh.
How is the difference explained? Does the 196.4 kWh include the iBoost diversion?

Are you saying your import meter has gone up by 369?
Is it purely a co-incidence that import and export seem to add up to about the same as the leccy meter?
You don't happen to have a Siemens leccy meter do you?
Doh! I see what you mean, you didn't export it, you diverted it, but the readings are showing it as export not diversion ..... is that right?

            Hello Mart
It is a GEC meter with an anti-reverse device fitted. I am confident that the 369 kWh is reading for actual importation from the grid. Whether the utility's meter is correct or not is a matter to be decided.
I also know that my true generation figure is 451 kWh (import meter) which is slightly lower than the Wattson. This accords with the Enphase reading.
The "diverted" would not read on the Wattson since it is iBoost that diverts. So really that figure should be measured as zero.
So I have real grid importation of 369 kWh and Wattson grid imported of 196.4 kWh. The difference is 172.6 kWh. That is far more than my measured diversion.
So I'm perplexed!I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

Don't really know why...but have you got the clamps on the right way round?

Thank you Lego. I reversed the clamp a few minutes prior to this posting. Does that make more or sense? About 17:30.

I didn't think it mattered which physical direction the Wattson clamps face - but if it does make a difference then I'm probably wrong
My guess would be that somehow or another you've got one or more of the clamps fitted on the wrong bit of wire but no idea how to diagnose that remotely. Can only suggest that you draw up a schematic circuit diagram then try and work out what current(s) are passing through each clamp.
Have to say I have enormous reservations about Wattson figures generally - I often see a generation peak of impossible height (& minimal duration) when it's completely dark outside.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50

Now the Energy Hive Website is broken: ErrorException [ 2 ]: file_put_contents(): Only 0 of 1519 bytes written, possibly out of free disk space ~ SYSPATH/classes/Kohana/Log/File.php [ 90 ]I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. I think NOW that there is an error in the energy hive presentation because everyone's data has the same issue.
Looking at Time History >>> Energy >>> Year my import for May is 195.40 kWh.
Looking at Usage >>> Month >>> Imported for May import is 234.23 kWh.
The higher figure may be correct (time will tell). The lower figure is too small.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

By relying on a third party to store your data, you've lost control of it. I would concentrate on keeping a local copy in Holmes as your primary record and perhaps adding stuff to a remote server if you feel the need to consult it when you're not at home or if you want to share it with others.Sterlingtimes wrote: »I think NOW that there is an error in the energy hive presentation because everyone's data has the same issue.
But, however good your mobile phone, it's unlikely that you can sit on Brighton beach and load the dishwasher remotely or peg out the last load of washing to make room for next. You really need to be at home for that sort of action. If you're not at home, an Immersun (or equivalent) can use the excess generation but doesn't need anyone watching it.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50

All the experimentation with the placement of the clamps has paid off. The overnight consumption now appears in the band of 220 watts to 320 watts. But it is interesting how tightly the power usage curve follows the solar generation curve. Today with Master Sterling taking a mid-day shower, the iBoost grabbed 7.9 kWh. Overall exportation is very low. I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon.
