I took my cat to the vets today for her jabs and we chatted about fleas and whats good to get rid of them, i said my cat had had an allegic reaction to frontline, and thier other one, stronghold wasn't killing any fleas, so she offered me another one that lasts 3 months with one treatment. Great i said, so she put it on my cat. I went to pay and it turned out it was a worming treatment!
While they sorted it out, the vet nurse on the desk questioned me about why i wasn't using frontline, when i said my cat had had a reaction to it, the only thjng she said was, 'but it killed the fleas' and tried to get me to buy it again!
So can anyone suggest anything else i can try? I tried fiprospot, which worked well for a while, but then didn't.

Hi, have you tried Advantage? You can get it from on-line vet medicines suppliers.0

I use this for mine: http://www.vetuk.co.uk/pet-meds-prescription-only-advocate-for-cats-c-21_702
but it comes free from the vets with a care package.0 -
My vets no longer use Frontline, they recommend Activyl but you will still need a prescription for it if buying online. Your vets should be able to order it in for you though.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Advocate (only available from vet or with a prescription to buy online), Advantage or ClearSpot spot on (by Norbrook NOT bob martin!) all use the active ingredient Imidacloprid which works well on fleas where Frontline et all are having problems

My cat was scratching a lot and even starting to get bald patches, even though there was no sign of fleas.
I'd been using Frontline and Advantage drops but neither seem to work so my vet tried a tablet called Comfortis.
My cat is very lethargic for around 24 hours after the tablet but then he is back to normal. All his scratching has stopped and bald patches cleared up.
He has been on it a few months now, he has one tablet a month.Errrr...come back later0 -
my cat has Activyl too. its quite effective at flea control. however they seem to be having trouble getting supplies in......so gave him Stronghold last time - and its not as good in my opinion. plus he started scratching his neck soon after it was applied and it turned out he had earmites for the first time since I had him.0
