Credit cards and mobile phones contracts advice

Hi all,
I'm a newbie here and just looking for some advice:
My partner has a daughter who is 19 and has beed diagnosed with personality disorder and different mental health issues since she was about 15. She has been under the care of social services since this time.
I just found out today that she has about £2k in debts with credit card companies and took out 3 mobile phone contracts. Now the thing is she hooked up with this criminal (who is now in prison) and it appears that he manipulated her into taking out these contracts. Now the CC & phone companies are threatening to take her to court for the money. She doesn't work and has no means to pay (apart from her mother who would struggle to pay this back too)
Any advice on what she can do would be greatly appreciated as my partner is currently on the verge of a complete breakdown

Your partners daughter (or your partner) should contact the creditors and talk to them about the issues. They will need medical evidence of any diagnosed conditions.0 -

I'm just trying to be helpful but just feel really useless at the moment seeing her like this
thanks again0
