I have a newish pair of leather shoes that rub badly at the heels. I used heel grips but no success. Has anyone got any ideas what i can do with them?

    Thanks

Rub a candle over the bits that rub - works on sandals - honest!!!

It was a tip on the tv. The wax from the candle sticks to the rough bits on the shoes and means you kind of glide over it instead.

My mum always used to rub soap on the bits that rubbed on our new school shoes when we were little, worked really well.

The Ministry of Defence used to advise all squaddies to urinate in their boots and leave them on until they dried. Not one for trying in confined spaces!

may sound daft, but make sure you moisturise your feet because if your skin is dry it loses elasticity and then you get the friction from your shoes rubbing you skin and a blister will form very quickly.

I go with the wearing the shoes with socks or the spray from the shop.
