just back from Alcudia, the best and cheapest place to book excursions is No Frills Excursions (google them to get addy). They were around 50% cheaper for our waterpark excursions than Thomsons, and only book English speaking customers. Their prices include return transfers from your hotel. To get from Palma airport to Alcudia, we used Janerbus . com . They were €120 [return trip 2A/2c] - prompt and reliable. The waterpark we went to was Western Waterpark which is literally just across the road from Aqualand in Magaluf. It was ok for our kids (13,7) You could also take a trip out to Formentor for the views, stopping off in Peurto Pollensa first which has a lovely town square and a beautiful marina. The bus was only €1,30 p/p no matter the distance. No Frill Excursions web page should give you a list of all the major trips you can go on, in Majorca. Hope some of this helps.0

You won't need to hire a car for Alcudia. You can walk from one end to the other, although it's a bit of a trek. Which area are you staying in? Most people divide it into two, the port area and the bellevue area. The beach is one of the best beaches i have ever been too, it's beautiful!
There is a water park in Alcudia too, called hidropark if you want to google it. It's in between the port area and bellevue area so you're sorted! There is an alcudia market that runs on certain days, which is always worth a look. A lot of people get the bus into Palma for some shopping. Which hotel are you in if you don't mind me asking?
This website is really handy >> http://www.thealcudiaguide.com/alcudia-guide-shop.asp
If you look on the forum on the website, there will be loads on info on where to go/what to do/where to eat etc.
Hope this helps!0
