C&G Mortgage Offer

Hi,

Has anyone recently taken out a mortgage with C&G, if so can you advise how long it took for the mortgage offer to come through after the valuation/survey.

The reason I'm asking is that we are selling our house to someone who is BTL'in, and he's applied for a C&G mortgage for this purchase. The valuation was completed about 2.5 weeks ago, and he's heard nothing from C&G.

We've asked our EA to get onto them, but they told us today that they can't get hold of anyone at C&G, which I find very hard to believe.

Our mortgage offer came through less than 7 days after our survey and were just worried something is wrong. This is only thing left to come through and then we can exchange.

Hi Frostygills, yes we have one with them. They are rather slow with sending paperwork out (that was our experience and another my friends who has one with them). Get them to call the C&G and chase it up. x

Yes we did, also a BTL mortgage, and they took the pi$$ until my FA rang up and told them basically they get the offer out this week or we lose the house and forget the whole thing. Strangely that afternoon we got the offer faxed through. This was about 2wks after the valuation and hassling phone calls every other day to c&g.

Every time they were rung for an update they claimed they didnt receive 'x' paperwork, but we had sent that days ago so we'd have to refax it. it was like being in a timewarp!

If we hadnt had such a decent FA pressurising them I imagine we'd still be waiting for them now.

In comparison Northern Rock surveyed in 3 days and had the offer out 3 days after that. Most excellent.

Maybe its a BTL thing?

Thank you both, I'm sorry you both had problems with C&G, but greatful for letting us know. At least we now know they are on the slow side, which eases my fears somewhat.

I had my C&G mortgage offer through within less than a week of the surveyor coming out....

I had my C&G mortgage offer through within 2 days of going into the branch to apply-they carried out survey the same afternoon!

In fact they were chasing me because my employer hadnt got back to them to confirm my salary.

Very slow with our remortgage, probably becauser they had a market leading offer at the time and were swamped.

and C&G won't discuss the application with your agent anyway.
