    Hi all.
Just to add to this I also got the letter your referring to and today i received a letter from Skye Loans stating that they had taken on my mortgage; Now as far as i am aware my black horse loan is secured against my mortgage but the letter i got today says they have taken my mortgage on.. I'll be ringing them tomorrow and checking his out.

They also added into the paperwork a copy of their costs for certain things like if i have to use a solicitor it will cost £125. Yet on my mortgage costs form it states £90 as i browse through these charges they will charge if they were incurred are much higher than my original mortgage charges sheet.

It does actually state in this letter that no changes will be made to my account etc. Yet these charge prices would be higher if this is correct.

As far as i know my mortgage is with N,rock/virgin money. Surely these at Skye loans have got it wrong i cannot see my mortgage being sold on.But why would they state they have I'm bewildered.

    Can It..

If the loan is secured against your property then you have a mortgage - whether this is a first or second mortgage.

And does that mean Skye loans now own my mortgage? As well as taking over my secured black horse loan..

They may be calling your secured loan a mortgage.

It will be a second charge on the property, or a second mortgage.

  • Just a word of caution if you pay off your loan. Make sure you cancel your direct debit straight away as it slipped my mind and even though it should be a request for payment from them so shouldn't be requested as it's paid off, they still continue taking payment.

When you call them they just then say you have to get a refund under the direct debit guarantee scheme. What a complete abuse of the system, just relying on the banks to do all their refund admin and the customers to manage their direct debit process.
  • My daughter also had her loan transferred to skye loans. her last payment due was a part monthly amount of £193,instead they took a full amount of £393,an over deduction of approx. £200.She has been trying to recover this money for nearly 2months,she has all statements from Black Horse confirming this position. Any advice from fellow forumites involved in a similar situation would be appreciated. On a general note what should her next move be to try and recover this money. We are resident in Scotland.
