I didn't know you could Stooze with Travellers Cheques?

The Travel Money Forum might be the better place for this?

You can indeed, or at least you could - the cards in question were those which offered a 0% purchase period and classed travellers cheques as purchases (the three I can think of being Tesco, M&S and Amex, when the TCs were bought from Tesco/M&S/Amex).

The trick was to buy sterling travellers cheques and pay them straight into your current account. Not sure if this is possible now - don't know if Tesco or M&S stopped still sell them, and I'm not aware of any Amex card with a 0% purchase period at the moment.
  • I have now received my Clarity Card for using in Thailand in December.
Am I likely to get a poorer exchange rate at the airport ATM's than ATM's elsewhere as is true for travellers cheques?
