Is Re-Roofing allowable for CGT?

In order to obtain sign-off on a house extension, it was found that the lap on the existing tiles was insufficient. Therefore the existing tiles had to be removed and the whole roof re-done with additional tiles.
My question is whether this would be an allowable expense in terms of calculating CGT, as technically it constitutes an improvement to the roof rather than a repair (roof was not leaking at all)?

Sounds repair to me - it's rectifying a serious flaw in the original. "Improvement" is an optional nice-to-have, like adding the extension in the first place.0
