Tesco Customer Service.

Hi. I recently bought some Tesco Lime and Coriander Tuna Kebabs, which were delicious, apart from the huge shard of bone in one of them. I'm not one for complaining usually, but on this occasion i took the offending bone into the store with the packaging. I was given an immediate refund on the procuct by a very pleasant and highly apologetic CS girl. She also sent the item off with a "foreign body" report. I today recieved a letter from Tesco head office apologising and enclosing a £10 voucher. This was completely unexpected and has renewed my faith in the money grabbing supermarkets.

If the bone had stuck in your throat you would be "DEAD"
£10 compo voucher isnt that great after all is it?

Personally, I would rather DIE OF STARVATION than give Tesco 1p of my money.
Their R&R policy was canceled when it hit their pocket. Have they sorted their prices ?

Amazing... fobbed off with a tenner... and you're grateful? I'd be insulted!

What would you have done if your 5 yr old, child/nephew, anyone of a young age, had swallowed that bone and it became stuck in their throat?

£10 was to just get rid of you. I would have been on the phone to Environmental Health. It's not what did happen, it's what could have happened.

I read your post, OP and was about to say thank god - you're not one of those take, take, take desperate money grabbing scroungers who think that although something didn't happen, it could have!

You MIGHT have stabbed the bone in your eye and look where that would have left you. You clearly need to be unhappy with the reasonable compensation they've given you and aim for thousands as you COULD have been really injured by this.

Well done on not coming on here and moaning unnecessarily about Tesco - sadly there are too many people not like you (see the three posts above) and think they're worth more than a piece of sh!te to the company they're boycotting!

Now I wonder what you would have done if a child of yours had that caught in their throat!! Oh yeah, take £10 and say thanks and walk away, yeah right.

Good try but no stars for you.

Aren't all these things marked with a covering statement like "caution-while we aim to remove all bones some may remain"? Like they do with stones in tinned fruit? If it does say something like that I'd be very pleased with my £10. Also a good kick up the bum to check any prepared foods you give your kids!

At least it proves that the kebabs were made from real meat.
  • ............or real FISH in this case..........(tuna)..........
  • If you look on the back of the packet in small type is states:

Caution this product may contain bones.

Tesco have covered their @rses, so were not obliged to give the OP any sort of compensation, but they did, so good on them.

Nobody swallowed the bone, nor did they trip over it, cut their finger on it, or
injure themselves by sticking it up their nose, that is not the point of the origional post. Honestly some people go too far!!
