gas works made a mess

We've had some national grid gas works on our street. Today they came and dug up our front garden (a hole about 4 feet long, 2 feet wide and 3 feet deep) and the side of our house, 1ft by 2ft and 1 foot deep. They wrote to us a few weeks ago to say that they may do this and would 'make good'. Except they haven't. The front garden is shingle and nice stone flags, they broke the flags when they pulled them up (large flags, they've pulled up 4 and broke 3) and the side of the house is tarmacked - they've done a 'pothole' repair, which frankly looks a mess- I can cope with that but not the broken flags.

I'd made an effort to make out front look nice and they seem to have total disregard for our property, they haven't even cleared up after themselves and there is mud, plastic bags and mortar over the whole garden.

Is there anything I can get them to do about this? I'm not looking for them to reflag the whole thing, just make it look nice, like it was before they dug it up.
