Do I need to buy antivirus for the above? I am currently using Kaspersky internet security 2015 for my PC and laptop but I see they have one for android tablets. I do not want to spend money to buy one. Thanks

You don't need antivirus software on Android. You will not get a virus unless you deliberately hack your phone to root it and install software outside the usual Play store mechanism. The only thing antivirus will do is slow down your phone.

You could always download the free Kaspersky av app from the Google play store and give it a try.

Per Poppy's post, most Android users don't need an AV app. Even malware and viruses coming through email can't do anything on an Android device unless you've got it rooted and totally open. (Which hardly anyone who's thinking about needing an AV app will actually have done).

Is it safe to do online banking? I will use my PC but in just the latter plays up, is it ok to give personal details using a tablet? Thanks

Use the bank's own app if they have one? That will (or should) encrypt the data so that even someone snooping on open wifi shouldn't be able to hack in and get your account details.

(Set up the app first via your own secured home wifi network).
