Iphone backup on iTunes

Hi , I have just bought a new iPhone and want to transfer my details/info from my other iPhone to the new one on iTunes.
Now I already have a backup on a old iphone and a ipad backup on my iTunes account so how can I back the one I have been using before getting my new one as I will have 3 backups on the account .
How do I get the recent used iPhone backup onto the new iPhone without getting the wrong backup from other iPhone devices on my iTunes account...

How about backing up your former iPhone to iCloud (assuming it's still in your possession) and then during set up of your new iPhone follow the process Apple have laid out here:

Ok so I did a backup on my iPhone for the items l wanted stored like phone contacts/ pictures/ messenger data etc and it used 1.8 gb of the 5 gb allowed..
Now I want to put it onto my new iPhone which was my wife's,
So I log her iCloud account off and put my iCloud details in..
It said do you want to merge this iPhone or something like that , I click on that and did the backup from my iPhone , all I see on the new iPhone is my contacts... No pictures or data etc..
So how do l get these on..
Also is there someway you can look at your backup files on the phone or a app you can download so you know what's in the iCloud ..

That's strange as everything you'd stored in iCloud should've transferred over when you signed into the account on your new iPhone.

To see what's been backed up to iCloud:

Tap Settings, scroll down to iCloud (it'll show the email linked to account underneath the title) and tap Storage.

Then tap Manage Storage and there'll be a section called Backups. Tap this and everything should be shown there.

If not to back up from iTunes and find the latest backup open the program and File>Preferences (Windows) or iTunes>Preferences (Mac OS) and in the pop up dialog box you'll see 'Devices'. Click on that and it'll list the backups on your computer along with the time and date.
