Got a letter from Amex today saying that to be able to maintain the existing rewards on this account they are upping the APR from 19.9% to 22.9% from 20th August.
Now I have never paid interest, so im not too bothered, but also got a letter from Halifax reducing my overdraft from £1200 to £250 on the same day.
Now to be fair it could be a coincidence as, I don't pay my salary into Halifax account, I have never used the overdraft and have a £4200 Clarity limit, so they may just be reducing risk.
But this has got me paranoid, so has anybody with the card has the same letter from Amex or is it just me as as far as I knew they only offered one rate on the card for everyone?

Same letter... same rate increase. But since I've also never paid interest on the Amex CC then also not bothered.0

Interesting. I only got the card this week with the 19.9% rate! Not had the letter yet but like most people on here, I won't be borrowing on it past the statements anyway.0

Just had the same letter with the same rate increase. Never paid any interest, just use it now for the special offers.0

Yup. Same letter.
Doesn't bother me either - never paid interest on this card, I just trouser about £300 in cashback every year.Optimists see a glass half full

I wonder - has anyone got the letter that has the old-style Platinum credit card that pays up to 1.5%?0

Yes... me. I've got the same letter as the OP but have the old-style card with stepped cashback rates.0

Thanks guys - guess not long before I get it too...
Doesn't bother me as I always pay off in full.
I'm eyeing-up the Gold charge card though from later this year and will leave this one on the side since it's not available any more.0
