We are planning to buy as well. I looked at IKEA catalogue, John Lewis online and MFI For my purposes MFI seems to have the best ranges although I havent been and looked in store yet. Once upon a time MFI stuff could have been guaranteed to fall to bits but I think they are much more upmarket now.
  • Don't know precisely what you're after, but we got a reasonable quility computer desk from - wait for it - PC world! It was a very good price and is really quite solid and the finish is good. Worth a look anyway.

I just want a straightforward desk - not one with shelves under it for tower or a bit that slides out for the keyboard. Just a straightforward desk.

I have just been looking at www.pcworld.co.uk as they have a good sale on. Look down the left hand side at 'office supplies' and then desks and chairs and there are some quite cheap work station type desks there. Good luck.

Ikea are your best bet I reckon. They have some nice plain desks in variety of colours.
  • I looked at plain desks before we went for the computer desk - there are some good ones on Ebay, much as I hate to say it!
