The thing I didn't like about Amazon Prime was that you have to pay extra for a lot of their stuff. It should be 'all in' like Netflix.0

I got one a few days ago and am not very impressed. I get pretty bad lipsync problems with YouTube.Stompa0

Can I ask how far you are away from your hub ? I have seen reviews that say they have problems when they are some distance away ,or on different floors - even when other wifi devices work okay .
We're about 5/6m away from the router (it's in the hall we're in the lounge) our wifi signal is rubbish though (it doesn't like where my bed is) and we're only in a small 2 bed house.
We have netflix and amazon prime (included with my prime subscription) I like both for different things really.0 -
I ordered the Fire Stick from Amazon and bought it for £20.
First check to see if you are entitled to a £5 credit for buying a £20 (or more) Amazon gift-card.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/browse.html/?node=5225073031
If yes, buy the gift-card and the credit will follow 24 hours after purchasing the gift-card. Buy the Fire Stick using the £20 gift-card and after deducting the £5 credit.
Voila - £20 Fire Stick.
Bit of a delay atm.

Hey, thanks for that Amazon tip! I did qualify! So can I just buy an email giftcard and apply it to my own account?0

Yes, no problem. Or send it to another email address, but it's just the code that needs added to your giftcard balance on your Amazon account.

I got one on launch when they offered a discount to Amazon Prime subscribers and it works really well. I mainly use it for Netflix and Amazon Instant Video and the interface is really responsive and easy to use.
It is an especially good option for a second TV/bedroom TV as for £25 you are getting all of the options of a Smart TV without the cost.
Also as it is so small it is trivial to sling it in your bag when you go on holiday or are away for business. If you have WiFi where you are staying then it is a big improvement on having to watch Netflix on a phone or tablet. I've found it a godsend on business trips where there isn't much to do in the evening.0 -
I've got a Now TV box linked to my non smart tv at the mo and my blue ray recorder box is smart so has Netflix on - would one of these Amazon fire sticks be a better option for me than the Now TV box?
I like the idea that you can take it on holiday with you as we go on a couple of self catering uk breaks a year and always have cottages with wifi. Going to Tesco tomorrow so will have a look see if they have any in stock.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

These are back up to £35 now at Amazon and Tesco Direct but still showing as £25 on the Argos website... perhaps not for long!0
