How far would you go for an extra month of credit card stoozing?

My credit card counts Returns/Refunds as part payments to my monthly bill which gets paid via direct debit.

So say i owe £500 to be debited on the 25th of the month. Then say i get refunded a transaction that appears on my current transactions on 20th for £100. My then so called "smart direct debit" therefore only pays out £400 to pay my bill off fully that month. In total the full 500 is paid off

Basically it means i dont need to pay the £100 until the following months bill. One can therefore set aside that £100 for stoozing for an extra billing month.

I wonder is this against T&Cs or perfectly fine and if so do people do this.

The numbers are small but if you're in good control of your finances and you understand what your doing, you could stooze any amount for an extra month, or even repeat it.

An example to get a easy refund is ordering something off tescodirect and then cancelling the order 10 min later. The purchase transaction and refund transaction would likely appear on ur statement on the same day!

What does the forum think? I guess it is a bit of work for little gain but it is stoozing to a miniscule level :)

As an aside, I have done something similar a couple of times on my Halifax Clarity (albeit mostly by accident!).

If you spend £300 on the card, and then get that refunded in the same month, it still counts as £300 of spend for the £5 credit. I've noticed when I thought I missed the reward as my statement amount was only £275, but I still got the £5 paid. They split refunds out separately as a payment rather than netting off of the statement amount.

I've never actually done it intentionally, but I have rested on this when I knew my statement was < £300 after I'd returned something.
