My Son has just received a ticket for a over stay on a Sunday. 3 hours free parking, he was over by just over an hour.
I have been reading the Beginners guide, and see a template.
So, I just copy and paste this, and add my PNC number to the top?? Is it really as simple as that.
We do not live near the store, but will try and contact them tomorrow, and also, maybe post on their facebook.
Any other plans other than that?

No it's not as simple as that. You need to read the template, understand it, and edit it to suit the circumstances.
In any situation (not just fake parking tickets) blindly copying-and-pasting stuff from t'internet is suicidal.Je suis Charlie.0 -
You know what, I am really struggling with this.
It says do not use reason as they are not interested, then I see stuff like the below which is just a load of rubbish they are surly not interested in..
"Your clients should be thoroughly ashamed of the shoddy way you treat consumers visiting their premises. Parking firms like yours fail to demonstrate even a basic understanding of customer service. The reputation of your business model appears to be more akin to a protection racket than 'parking management'. The public have no faith in the private parking industry and, as far as I have seen, your firm has not shown itself to be any different than the ex-clampers with whom you share a membership. "
Sad as it sounds, I am not sure I can be doing with letters and appeals. I know it rocks some peoples boat, but he was over an hour over, and knew.
I have approached the retailer, and they are not interested as they say they do not manage the car park.0 -

You have said that you are dealing for this on behalf of your son, why not get him to take this on and post on here.
even if he was over an hour the charge horizon are demanding does not represent anything other than an unlawful penalty.
Unless there are any reasons why you should deal with this ( disability of your son/dyslexia etc) let him deal with it. point him here. From the Plain Language Commission:

I'd be dropping the CEO a quick email asking if he condones his staff lying to you and if he's happy for you to start shopping at Tesco.

Quick update.
Basic letter sent that did not identify the person who parked in the car.
Contained two points.
1. Charge is not a true value of retailer loss.
2. Entered and exited the car park on more than one occasion that day.
Letter from Horizon apologising and that the PCN is now cancelled.

Great, if a rather surprising, outcome - not many PPCs roll over like that.
Thank you for coming back to update us - it's what helps to keep us motivated. There are so many who 'suck us dry' for advice and help, then we hear no more.
I'm sure you'll be enjoying a celebratory tipple. Cheers! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
