The Santander website states (for the 123 Credit Card) ...
"The 1|2|3 Credit Card has an annual fee of £24, but if you have, or if you open any of our 1|2|3 Current Accounts [excluding 1|2|3 Mini Account (in Trust)], we'll refund the first year's annual fee when you set up a Direct Debit to pay your card within 30 days of opening."
So I do have a 1|2|3 Current Account and I have set up a DD payment for the Credit Card *but* the DD is coming from another (non Santander) account.
Does this qualify for the £24 fee refund or should I amend the DD to be from Santander?

I'd amend the direct debit to come from the 123 account. The way you've quoted their offer sounds ambiguous but I think the intent is to retain this within Santander, and that's the way I have mine set up. Refund for me was processed at the same time as the fee so all clearly laid out.0 -

Probably safest. I can always change again later.0 -

Likewise for me as well. I was new to Santander 123 account last year, but after I transferred my old current account to it, I applied for the credit card 6 months later. All was fine with the annual charge and got it refunded on the first bill.0 -
I queried this with Santander and it does say in their T & C (buried) that the DD must be from a linked 123 account. It suited me better to pay from another account so I set up a 123 DD, got my £24 refunded and then cancelled the 123 DD before re-opening my original DD all before the first payment became due.0
