Is this too cheap to be any good?

TESCO

My parents are after a new desktop- they send emails, watch the odd youtube video and play, simple mostly word, games.

Seems to have good reviews, but wondered if it was fast/big enough, also, never heard of the brand.?

Thanks for your help.
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

dependant on your location , you would be better getting a machine built to what you need,

I have a friend who makes those http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/new-desktop-machine-ssd-win-81-office-2012-etc/1117005768

ssd drive , decent case good motherboard and totally upgradable to the higher spec i3 i5 or i7 processors dependant on your budget , remember hi range i7s can cost £700 just for the CPU!
  • You know that doesn't include a monitor, right?

I'm sure it'll be ok for pootling on the internet though. It's 'only' dual core though

Actually, for the spec I'd say it was overpriced! But it'll certainly do the job of a basic PC, however note it comes with Windows 8.1 which is pretty grim unless you're used to it.

Nothing wrong with Zoostorm as a brand (my Mini-Guns both have one, chosen by me) but you may find a better price/spec if you look at ebuyer.com, here:-

    http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Computer/cat/Desktop-PC/Zoostorm?sort=price+ascending

from £183 with OS if they don't need an optical drive...or cheaper if you have a spare windows key to put your own OS on..
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

You really don't need to spend that much. Something like this will be more than enough for web browsing, youtube, word processing etc

Just so you know - zoostorm , or dell, of hp for that matter , is only that make of the plastic case ..

The parts inside are just the same

The PC listed would be a decent price .. If it came with a monitor
As it doesn't , I would say it is slightly over priced ..

However it will perform just fine for all your parents requirements

You mention using it for Games, what type of games are we talking about here ?

as gaming can require a much better pc to run on

Quote... and play, simple mostly word, games.

I read that as just easy games not anything that would need high end graphics card ect

Easy enough these days. The time of Dell using boards with non-standard layouts is long gone.
