Repair work after exchange

Hi all

I am currently in the process of purchasing an empty property (probate) that needs a fair bit of work done on it. As I would rather have some of the work done before completion, what do you think the chances are of getting repairs done after we exchange and prior to completion?

Many thanks

    slim to none, depending on how major you are talking.

    Imagine that you get a builder in, who then burns the house down. The mortgage company pulls its offer, the insurnace company drags its feet, and the builder disapears.

    Come completion day you are going to have enough red tape to wrap the whole streets christmas presents.

    which is why as a vendor I would say no.

    Zero if the vendor listens to their solicitor

    Understood. Even if it is essential repair such as getting the boiler fixed?

    Even then I'm afraid.

    As Martin says, too many 'what ifs' to worry about.

    Perhaps. 'What is the chance? About 5.32%."

    I have done this in the past. Why not ask? You'll be told

    * No or
    * Yes or
    * yes with conditions
