Hello, I am writing an article for a national newspaper about the penny auction site MadBid.com and, with the permission of MSE, which has allowed me to post this message, I'm trying to find people who would be interviewed about their experiences (as soon as possible please - deadline 21 May 2015!).
If something has happened that you'd like me to include in the article - good or bad - please let me know at steveboggan@hotmail.com, with your phone number, and I'll call you.
Many thanks for your time,
Steve

Let's hope it's for a newspaper that hasn't been aiding Madbid by carrying any of their misleading advertisements.Steve_Boggan wrote: »Hello, I am writing an article for a national newspaper about the penny auction site MadBid.com

Hello RFW, to my relief it would not appear to be. Do you have any personal experiences to relate? SteveApproved Journalist

Happily not. There's not too many complaints on here on Madbid, although I'm sure there will be some. Swoggi seems to generate a fair few though https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4978909Steve_Boggan wrote: »Hello RFW, to my relief it would not appear to be. There was an entire thread about swoggi penny auction site: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4978909
There's a lot of info there and people signing up here for the first time to say they've been scammed, (or at least feel scammed)
I believe the company concerned set up a site with a similar name to money saving expert telling people they can "save money" by going to their penny auction site and buying tokens to bid.
Just ask yourself, what kind of company would do that?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0 -
There was an article in the Guardian on Saturday about madbid.0
