Damned if I do...... I'm at my wits end and need somewhere to live!

hi,
You've probably heard the same story before so apologies from the get go but I am seriously losing the plot at the moment.
I have poor credit based on two settled CCJ's and defaults that ended in 2011/2012. Because of this I am finding it impossible to find anywhere to live. I take-home an average of £1700 a month and even with my best efforts this seems to be to lowfor the prices where I live in London.
I'm trying to do the right thing and pick my life up again. I am not on any kind of benefits because I don't qualify and because I'm willing to work hard to be able to pay my way, I have no problem paying higher rents I just need the opportunity to do so.
I'm getting really worried that my mental health is declining it wasn't the best to begin with. I'm fully aware that this is a result of my actions however being penalised for this long and in this way feels so painful right now I'm nowhere near the person I was three years ago when I was at uni what's this all happened.
I really do feel like I'm doomed it makes you feel less of a human to be in this position and I really don't know where to turn next.
I'm in my late 20s and this just feels like a slap in the face after having worked really hard to pick myself back up having paid all that I owed. Not sure why I am posting this but I just needed somewhere to vent after spending ages on the Internet looking for alternative housing option without any luck.
Thanks for reading!

Hi Gem,
I believe they take 6 years to be removed from the time they were added to your credit file, Could be wrong here but to chases a debt up is 6 years so presume its the same on your credit file.
Can you not look at a flat share or something along these lines for now and save additional monies up for a deposit at some stage in the future ?
I wouldn't stress too much either as we all mess up in life and looks like you are at least sorting yourself out so you really should feel pleased with that.0 -
Have you considered being a lodger or do you want your own place?
Also, have you looked at the possibility of living outside of London and commuting in?0 -
Thanks for the replies!
I work from home so it would drive me mad to share with someone and I don't feel comfortable leaving my computer with all of my work data in the house.
I will have a look at the tipsy. D try and position my credit file in the best possible light.
Thanks !0 -
If you work from home do you have to live in London? You could move further out to somewhere that suits your budget better. Taking home £1,700 and living in London if you're not prepared to lodge or share is going to be very tough.0
