Smart Parking at Asda

Hi,
I got a ticket from Smart Parking at Asda in Portsmouth. I was tempted to appeal based on the fact that I had only popped in to get change (their machines do not give change) and that the ticket supports this, showing that I had only been there 7 minutes. Having read the 'Newbies' forum, however, I followed their instructions and simply copied the template response into the appeals section of the Smart Parking website. I got a very short letter today informing me that they have cancelled my ticket, so my advice would be to follow the advice on the Newbies thread and hold your nerve; having read this forum I can't believe I have been blindly paying private PCNs all these years!
Thanks very much for all your help.0 -

Well done you. Shows that by carefully reading and following advice in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, PCNs can be defeated without input from forum regulars, and adds strength to the body of opinion that the NEWBIES sticky should remain a sticky rather than let it go into free-fall on the forum. @ johamment - this was a recent proposal by Crabman (Forum Guide), which is probably still on page 1 or 2 of the forum index, if you wanted to read itPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

HI All
Update, I have chosen not to pay the invoice and followed the advice in the sticky. No reply from smart parking as yet and it has been about 10 days. Thanks for all the messages it really did help me to make a stand against this unfair practice. I will update and perhaps need more advice as things progress.0
