Judgement Entered against me in respect of Parking Eye Ltd

Hi Everyone
Im new to this site but wondered if anyone could provide me with some advice please......
I originally got a letter from Parking Eye in January which I replied to and heard no response (unfortunately i cant find a copy of the letter).
I didn't hear back from them so assumed this had been dropped. In March/April I received a County Court letter to say that Parking Eye had taken this further, I appealed but have now received a 'Thank you for your letter but your reply is being returned to you as it was outside of the timescales and Judgement has now been entered against you'.
The last couple of months has been an extremely difficult time for me as i suddenly lost my best friend whilst on holiday and Ive been heavily caught up in the official arrangements of bringing his body home/the funeral, etc which has been ongoing for the last 2 months, and all time has just slipped away from me.
Is there any more I can do to appeal this. I believe I can apply to set this aside but have no idea where to start or the cost or timescales involved. Can anyone please advise?
Thank you so much for your help in advance.

When was the default judgement?
Are you still within the time you have to pay it - if so you could avoid a CCJ by doing so.
If not it costs £155 to apply for a set aside.
Google 'Parking Prankster how to set aside a ParkingEye CCJ' which has excellent info on the process.0 -
The date from the Court was the 20th April, I'm late in opening my post i know i've just been tied up with other things lately.0

Did you get a judgment in the post explaining:
how much you owe, how to pay (in full or in instalments), the deadline for paying
If you are past this deadline - paying now will not remove the CCJ - it will just stay there as 'satisfied' which will still show up for 6 years and if you are intending to apply for a set aside then you shouldn't pay it.
Have a read of Pranksters blog

You will need to have a good reason for why you didn't deal with this and it may well be that your recent bereavement and the stress of the subsequent issues will be reason enough.
Others more familiar with this process will be probably be able to advise on that better than me.0 -
I did get a judgement in the posted, but this was dated the 14th April - i didnt physically receive this until returned from Teneriefe last week. By that time it was too late!!0

So first notification in January 2015 of a parking 'infringement'?
County Court claim in mid March 2015?
and default judgment 14 April 2015?
Are PE really going to the 'nuclear option' of court within 3 months of issuing a ticket.0 -
You seem to be taking this very casually, for most people fighting a CC action should be at the very top of their priority list, a CCJ can have a devastating effect on one's finances.
Now is not the time to be posting on Money Saving fora, speak to a reputable credit repair agency as soon as possible. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

TD I have seen you post this before, what can a credit repair company do, that you cant do yourself? All they can do on a persons behalf is correct any incorrect information. Or contact a company and ask them to remove any adverse reporting.
Having a CCJ against you by default is not incorrect information, so no credit reference agency is going to remove it.
Unfortunately by ignoring the court claim it makes it harder to have it set aside, but that's the only option, except for paying it and having it marked as satisfied. The latter although still damaging would be less so.
I once helped someone who had used a credit repair company, and was charged £365 upfront for the pleasure. When we received their CRF all these morons had done is add a notice of correction to every overdue account, which actually has a detrimental effect on your CRF.0
