I hate Renault

Renault/Peugeot announced the closure of their UK factories recently and will be moving production back to France, making many people redundant in the process. When my UK built Cleo dies I will not buy another car from a manufacturer that will not build them in the UK.

Fruitcake it’s Peugeot/Citroen otherwise known as PSA that have shut a factory down in the UK, it built the 206 here. The Renault Clio has never been built in the UK and Renault have never owned a factory here (apart from the formula 1 team).
Renault are dreadful cars reliability wise, some models make Fiat look good! Honest John from the Telegraph said to avoid them for many years.
French manufactures have no presence in North America, the reason being that they tried but they wouldn't put up with the poor quality. Indeed the Americans don't even buy many of their own cars as they do Japanese. I wonder why it is we buy so many of the cars they don't want?
If you want a good car then Japanese or Korean is the way to go.0 -
We had a 53-reg Espace, which, by the time it had done 27,000 miles, had had TWO new turbos.
and Renault have never owned a factory here (apart from the formula 1 team).0 -

if your car brakes down in a tescos car park, dont joint the AA, or rac,as tescos give free AA cover if you break down in there car par, or if you break down beside there car par ,get a push to there car park
You could get your mate to tow it to Tesco. Would they also repair a caravan broken down in Tesco? Do you know?0 -
we have had renaults for years and we have had no great problems.
You can get just as many problems with other makes.
I love the remote key system, as long as you keep the key away from your mobile.0 -

That was the one noise my Renault Scenic never made!! I had similar problems - 4 ignition coils, bonnet rippled through heat, suspension strut snapped. When I queried why my local Renault dealer (Renault Cardiff) could not do any of the repairs quicker than 4 weeks I was told it was because they were busy! When I suggetsed that they were obviously busy because their cars were rubbish they proceeded to quote various consumer association coments and seemed simply offended that I could even dream of thinking this.
Needless to say I am now the contented driver of a Kia Carens and it is brilliant!0 -
After the coverup they tried about the Clio bonnets coming open i wouldnt buy a Renault they cant be trusted.
