Cavity wall insulation for system built/ex PRC

Morning all,

British Gas have advised they cannot insulate my cavity walls as my house is "system built" / ex PRC. Someone from Mark Group was cold calling in my area recently and said he could do it for £49 under the current scheme.

Has anyone with this type of build had CWI done, please?

What type of house do you have exactly?
Cornish Unit? Airey?

A cold caller is probably going to lie to you about anything and everything to get a sale. Then they turn up and say they can't do it, but we're keeping your £49.

As a rule, I would avoid anyone that cold calls.

If you are interested in getting some work done, I suggest you seek out some some locally respected and recommended contractors who have done this type of work and get some quotes - preferably at least 3.

British Gas have ECO targets to meet and are usually only interested in the easy/cheap cases. Whether BG do it or not should not be used to judge whether it's a good idea or not
It does sound like you need specialist advice.
