BT from Barclays to HSBC

I recently did a B/T from my Barclaycard to my HSBC card. When I log into online banking on my HSBC account, it's showing the £1000 B/T'd balance.
However on my Barclaycard account, it's not showing anything. My £1000 balance is still there. It's not even affected the available balance.
...Is this normal? I always figured, it would show up first on Barclaycard as the balance has been 'taken' by HSBC. And THEN it would show up on my HSBC card.
The new balance on my HSBC card is dated 18/05/15. I can be patient but what's worrying me is that, it's showing up on one account but not on the other.

HSBC let you do it from online banking. I did it on 16/05/15. When I logged in on Monday, it showed the £1000 on my HSBC card. To be honest, I'm really surprised that it's showing up that quick.0 -
Just to confirm - the debt was originally owed on the Barclaycard?
In that case I would expect to see a new debt on the HSBC card a few days before it disappeared from the Barclaycard as its like making a payment rather than a purchase, so the money is sent from HSBC and shows up on that account, it then takes a while to be credited to your Barclaycard account. As for how long, I'm not really sure but probably 2 or 3 working days.0 -

That's correct.
When you put it like that, that makes perfect sense. I've done 2 B/Ts in the past when it showed up on the old card first before it showed up on the new card where the balance was being transferred to - which is why I was confused this time.0 -
Hi. Thanks to everyone who commented and tried to help.
I've just logged on to my Barclaycard account and I can see that the B/T has affected my available balance. It should show up in my transactions in a day or two. All is well.
Thanks again!0 -
as long as the debt is showing on your HSBC account, i wouldn't be concerned. Barclaycard can't claim that you didn't move the debt away from them.0

Thank you! I'll be sure to remember that for next time before I start to fret! It's showing up on my Barclaycard account now, so all is well.0
