Feel so stupid! Was desperately searching for a couple of episodes of an american drama that I'd missed and couldn't get on catch up tv. I appear to have stumbled across this website and signed up for a free 5 day free trial (the stupid bit is that I had to enter my card details to show which country I was in) among many others that I searched for the programmes on - ended up paying amazon prime for the episodes :(
Have just looked at my credit card statement and found that I have been charged almost £70 over the last 2 months for a service I didn't want or ask for - they didn't even have the american drama that they advertised.
Is anyone else silly enough to have done this (and willing to admit to it!)? Any idea if I can get any money back? Credit card statement says that the company is in Mauritius!

no idea about getting your cash back but try couchtuner.com for watching american shows, no need to sign up to anything, just click a few X's to close an ad, and hit the play button, 1 or 2 other ads pop up then but just close them and enjoy your shows

Well if you didn't get what was advertised when you signed up tell your card company and do a charge back. Plus you must cancel the way they tell you or the charges will continue.

Did you cancel your membership within the trial period?

Thanks all, I though charge backs on credit cards were only for over £100.
No I didn't cancel within the 5 days as I wasn't aware that there was any further membership after that. As far as I was aware, I was registering fro 5 days of access and only had to put my card details in so they could verify which country I was in. I saw no further mention of ongoing charges after this if not cancelled. :(

Unless the site has been changed in the interim, it seems you failed to read what was in front of you - it is very clear that you need to cancel if you do not wish to proceed with the service after the trial. The bank may process a chargeback for you but if the service provider objects they are likely to reinstate the charge.
