Choosing a Wealth Management Company

I am an expat and am looking for a company to assist me with investing my funds offshore. I am fairly new to the world of wealth managers and wanted to know if there's any way to check if a company I have approached is reputable or not.

Appreciate your advice. Thanks

I would start by avoiding the use of the term Wealth Manager and avoid anyone who parades themselves with the title. If you need some Independent Financial Advice see an IFA as discovered through unbiased.co.uk. The firms who prowl other countries for expats of the same stripe are particularly questionable.

    What is a 'wealth manager'?

Sounds like another layer of charging to me.

We share a building with some "wealth managers". When I speak to them socially, they don't seem very bright and don't seem to know a great deal about the fundamentals of investing. However, their cars do add an air of class to the car park, so they must be doing something right.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.
