I'll be very happy if Watford gets the crossrail extension; quick travel to London and a nice boom in house prices around my village; since we have our local train line that takes you to Watford in 10 minutes0

I live in the not nice part of Dagenham
and was wondering whether Crossrail will make a difference to the prices of the houses. They look like they have gone up a lot in the past six months.
I wanted to move out to the Southend area but I'm worried that the prices will rocket up after I leave and I would be better off staying put.
Depends if you want a nicer place to live - or have a house that is worth more?!

More risk with CR2. Although we should have a key cross rail 2 announcement
this autumn ...
Bar Tottenham and maybe Seven Sisters Crossrail 2 will serve mainly already upmarket/expensive areas (e.g. Kings Road Chelsea, Euston, Clapham, Wimbledon, Dalston, Tooting).
So I am not sure there is much value to be had - as most people who don't already own in those areas probably couldn't afford them anyway now. Crossrail 1 tends to serve a wider range of places - including cheaper (well relatively for London) areas in the east and west.
Crossrail 2 offers more capacity than regeneration benefits - its users will need to have shorter journey times so they can work longer hours to pay off their extortionate mortgages!0
