Insurance write off - should I haggle over the offer?

Unless things have drastically changed, your not going to be offered top dollar as a first bid and you have to haggle as a matter of course. On servicing etc., my friends copper-bottomed FDSH got his settlement figure substantially increased and he asked for and got, the value of his shopping that he insisted was ruined when a builders van rear-ended his rather nice car. Get what you are due but keep it honest and you'll always be able to challenge them.0

Well it worked!
I told them I wasn't happy with the offer, and that I bought the car for £4000 from Evans Halshaw, and that Parkers put the value for franchise sales at £3900. It seemed like a long shot.
They said that they'd 'check another price list' and check out other sales adverts (thought they probably just put me on hold and checked their facebook for two minutes), and came back with £3700.
I'm much happier with that, and it really didn't take much arguing or providing evidence for them to up the offer. Lesson learned - they really will offer the lowest figure they can.0 -
Well done.
If you had answered my question in post 6, depending on your answer you may have been able to get the £4k you originally paid for it0
