And?
It's not RPIJ, or CPIH either. What's your point?
Mortgage payments and Council tax payments etc are an equally important factor which impacts peoples take home pay
Just floating it out there, that's allWell yes, we can all see that from the graphic in the OP. In what sense does reproducing that graphic add anything to the debate?
I don't recall every post in every thread and I didn't refer back to the OP's post on this occasion to see that the graph had been produced.
I did provide the link which the OP didn't if that meets with your approval
I will find it interesting in your capacity of reproducing graphics police role, that you will not fall foul of this new rule and pull others up accordinglyUnless of course the price of oil falls to $30 a barrel.
It could do of course, but most seem to think it won't and it certainly seems to be stable at circa $65 for the moment.
P.S. Was the crux of you post just to simply argue? I don't see any value in you post, nor this effort to respond to your queries:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.

Will nominal benefits linked to the CPI be cut if this disinflation remains?
BTW, index linked Gilts (Government Bonds) return a negative interest rate if RPI goes negative. Not sure if that is reflected in a reduced nominal value or becomes a liability to be paid. I suspect the former.0 -

You don't need to be a rocket scientist or indeed fly on a rocket to understand why.
Absolutely! No one is going there now after they walloped us in the ashes.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Reminds me of the great Yogi Berra quote, "Nobody goes there now, it's far too popular".0 -

My example is simplified for an audience. .
But even a simplified example has to work if it is to demonstrate its point.
Yours did not explain why there should be any different effects from a price fall because of glut from one caused by falling demand.
So what is "real" deflation? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
