    Morning all,

a quick hello from me I'm running late. I spent too long in the bath and I want to be out the house in 15 minutes. I'm going to see Mom and if they haven't found Moms glasses this week I will be adding a complaint to my brothers long list. She has no quality of life as it is but at least she has eyes... What point is there of having eyes if she doesn't have her glasses? Was hoping to put me usual slap on but I'm still wet so that's out the question.

Be back in an hour or two with some news.

Well the weather hasn't improved at all. The sky is black, we have had rain but no hail, but it has put paid to doing anything in the garden.

We popped out for a few bits and to the post office to send off a birthday present. I was lucky today there was hardly anyone in there, sometimes I have ages to wait.

Himself and the cat will be having their siesta soon (not much company!!) I am boiling a piece of gammon which should last about 3 days, with jacket potato and salad.

Judi I hope you found your Mum improved and I hope they have found her glasses. I always wear my glasses (I can see without them but I can't focus to read ) and when I had my op I wouldn't let them have my glasses until I actually went down to theatre, I am just used to them.

Enjoy the rest of your day

    .... back again.

Nmlc we seem to have accumulated stuff too. Hardest part was getting hubby to part with stuff when it was obvious they were never going to get used. The cadac was a great idea at the time but cleaning it was more hastle than it was worth.... especially as neither of us are that keen on cooking outdoors.

My news, well its a bit of drama really. The girls lost their cards and cash yesterday in London.... The cards have been cancelled but they have had a Sykpe call from someone who says they have found their wallet. However today when the girls tried to ring them back on Skype.... they are not answering. It doesn't sound good to me. :(

Mom was on top form today. She's got an eye infection which is being treated and her glasses have turned up! :T and so have her bottom set of teeth

Not a lot else to report.... except I'm knackered. I walked back from Moms the long way round (for a bit of exercise) and I'm knackered now.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

Perdiddling down here all day, so I have washing on the airer.

Hospital again this morning and they have upped my insulin, because my BG is still in double figures, even though I am on high doses of Metformin and Gliclazide plus the insulin :eek:
They are not happy that I have swelling in my legs either and I have to keep an eye on them, if I get another Hi sugar spike I have to go to A&E, that is for sick people, I would feel like I was wasting their time :(
Anyhow I have to phone the DSN next week and we will go from there

The only good thing is the amount of weight that I have lost :D

Judi that home is pretty useless with residents personal belongings :(

Hilly and Elona thinking of you both ((((Hugs))))

It has just gone as black as Newgates knocker outside and it has just started to hail heavily

Gammon Hocks with mash and peas for dinner, I will have new potatoes because they are low GI.

Must go and make DH a cuppa before he goes back to work.
    BFN xx
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

One chief and not enough Indians I recon but they are good with her. She is clean, well fed and her medical needs are met. What I don't like is the building itself and her room. The girls are lovely and I have a good relationship with them.

To be honest if I had been consulted about where my brother had put her I'd have had her placed in the retirement home over the road from me and then I'd have gone in daily. I might have been able to wheel her from out of the home and into my house occasionally because yes, its that close to my house. She would have loved that.

Pippa-dog has a very big bark for such a little dog!:D She's lovely though, and is turning out to be pretty much a model guest.:o

Got another load of washing on A-frames over the bath; it keeps alternating between brilliant sunshine and belting down with rain - and I am not doing the Washing Hokey Cokey for anyone!

    Afternoon all,

Just gotten home from work and school run.
The sun and rain have been fighting it out all day, each with a limited window before the other takes over :( It would seem the rain is winning now!

Popped into our local spar on the way home as DD fancied a nice-cream (sun was out then). Picked up a few bargain YS bits:
5x 125g blueberries £1.25 to 25p each! I have blueberries in breakfast smoothies each morning so very happy there :D:D
Garlic baguette £1.40 to 36p, will do for spaghetti bolo on the weekend.
Blue Stilton £2 to 50p, that has gone into the freezer for pasta at a later date.
Cheese and bacon quiche £2.50 to 47p!
Microwave new potatoes £1 to 25p
    Coleslaw £1.20 to 21p
    Sausage roll £1.40 to 28p
I was rather pleased with all that!

So,easy tea of quiche, potatoes, salad and coleslaw tonight...seeing as I forgot to get anything from the freezer this morning :o I was planning 'something on toast'.

Just put on the towels onto wash, got some washing to put away and then I will relax with a glass of vino later. I know it is only Tuesday but I feel the need for extra relaxation!

Enjoy your evenings one and all!
Hugs to the poorly and the stressed. I'm off for a quick catch up lurk xx

    Afternoon all

Been sunny and windy here so have dried the bedding on the line.

Cooked an impossible quiche for dinner tonight and it smells lovely, quite frugal too! We will have it with wedges and salad. DS still at home will probably skip the salad.

Can't get the smilies to work ....any ideas? I have the old version on this desktop computer in the dining room and the new on my laptop.

    Hugs to Hilstep and Elona.

    LW enjoy your canine boarder.

Hugs and spoons to all who need them.

    Have a good evening everyone.

I lost my smiles for quite a time and had to drag them across. I found out that by going into:

    Control panel
    Edit options
Message Editor Interface. In which I changed from WYSIWYG to standard interface, it solved my problems.

    Evening all.

What a strange day for weather - bright sun, biting wind and two heavy bouts of rain. I had a lovely drive to Helensburgh and back.

I've (we've) decided to have new replacement windows in the back of the house - four windows all facing north. The front were done about two years ago and are double glazed. The back is so cold that we're wasting money heating the rooms so it's bit the bullet time, the upstairs hall window faces the back so it's always a bit chilly up there. I grudge paying the electricity company.

So, not an MSE day really, but saving in a lop-sided way, does that count?

Roofer almost finished the scraping away old mortar and new pointing. Then he's going to move onto doing the guttering. At the front he'll repair the old cast iron bit and at the back there'll be new black plastic stuff. Next window the place will be water-tight and cosy.

Gardener is calling round in about half an hour so need to have a quick cup of tea before he arrives, I'm parched.

Hope everyone is keeping their end up.
