We are thinking of moving around this sort of area next year can anyone give any insights as to what its like? Is it a nice place to bring up children? Property is very cheap but is there a reason for this? It seems a very quiet place would the kids get bored when they get older?
Thanks all.....:D

We considered a place there, wasn't what we expected, but thought the town OK'ish, but nothing to make you say, 'I'd love to live there'.

Where are you living, now?

March is ok, but there are very fewe big name shops and the evening activities are somewhat restricted. Property is cheap beacuse Fenland is classified as an ecconomically depressed area (But only Wisbech North gets the extra Stamp Duty relief). The schools are reasonable, but it does depend on which catchment area you live in.
Transport links are ok as it has a railway station (can't speak about the bueses as I haven't used them in years).0 -

im living in dagenham, essex at the moment very horrible place.0 -
It will be better than daggenham. Probably one of the better places with houses in that price range i.e. good value for money.
Do you have jobs sorted?0 -
march is not too bad, i live nearby buy in a big city
I used to work alot in the march area and too be honest i would not like to live there as its too quiet for me as i like a bit of nightlife etc lol.
Its not too bad really it just depends what sort of things you like to do? The last time i was there it seemed a bit of an old pensioners town (no offence)0 -
no jobs sorted at the mo just thinking about it at the moment, i would be worried there is not much to do for when the baby gets older.0

Think about Ely, then.
Much more of a 'lifestyle' place, than march - more younger families, from what we saw & LOADS of new developments, compared to just 5 or so years back, when we knew freinds there.

I wouldn't live in March if I was given a house for free. Having said that we recently moved from Wisbech and I wouldn't go back there if I was given a free house either. We have moved into Guyhirn. Its brilliant. We are still classed as living in Wisbech but are a few miles out of town centre, away from the rough:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Ive been to Guyhurn many a time, Wisbech
Thats all im saying as i dont want to upset the locals lol.
If you are looking for plenty of things for the kid to do try Peterborough or a small village just outside like Castor, Ailsworth, Marholm, Yaxley, Most are 5 mins away from pboro.
Although i really like Stamford lots of nice old stone houses, a bit of nightlife and only 15mins to pboro.0 -

It depends on what you are after then. There is quite a bit to do for younger children, the issues stater to appear when they are slightly older, but Peterborough, Ely and Cambridge are only short train rides away.0
