Hi I am looking for some advice i was made bankrupt in oct 2010 my house was sold and i paid all my debts with the equity in the house.
I have started to rebuild my credit rating and have a credit card and a bank account and all my household bills are in credit. The only out standing negative is that my bankruptcy remains on file till oct 16.
I need to find somewhere to rent as the partner and i are separating, i now earn a very good income have been in my job 20 years + will any landlord out there give me a chance?
There is no property available privately as i need somewhere for my three older kids age 19 +.
But the known letting agents are they just going to take my application money then reject me? has anyone any ideas or advice about what my chances will be
thanks

Just be upfront about the bankruptcy. It will show up in a credit check as it's on your public record so there's no point paying for referencing if the Lzl won't consider someone who's bankrupt.
Do you have anyone who would act as guarantor for you?0 -
Unfortunately none of the credit building positives you mention would be visible on a tenancy credit check.
But of course the bankruptcy will be.
I would imagine you are realistically either going to need a guarantor or to be able to pay several months rent up front.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
