Spread the word the company cheats people.
Not really a good idea unless he will be able to prove to a court of law that that is a fact

  • Just to point out the manager could be lying about the owner's intentions. Seems odd to tell him to hand his notice in like that unless he wants to get rid of him without the owner realising anything is wrong.

Can he do anything or is it just a matter of forgetting and carrying on?
    Thanks in advance :)

He can do very little due to the length of time he has been there. If thats the approach they're taking then hes as well out of the place.

Personally, i'd resign rather than be sacked.

Once he is in a new job, he needs to mention to his mates what happened in the previous job.

If everything goes to plan, then they will soon find that they have no customers left and will no longer be trading. This would serve them right.

Because customers give a monkeys what may or may not have happened to one individual?

Leave, forget about it, and move on.

Op, tell your s-in-l not to hand in his notice unless he is offered a new job elsewhere.
He also needs to go above his manager's head and raise a grievance with head office. He may still get the boot, but at least he will have had the satisfaction of not going down without a fight.

Won't the managers sudden drop in sales be noticed when he leaves?
